Fun time beach time with Snack Shack Drive Thru
Waves crashing, cool ocean breeze and the beautiful setting sun. Visiting the beach is one of my favorite things. My friends and I often visit the beach to watch our best friend Tracy play beach volleyball. The community and the events held at the beach is always so fun, inviting and exciting. I am glad I get to be a part of it.
The pandemic was unforeseen. This caused many businesses to close. Many people were forced to stay in the comforts and safety of their homes. Direct contact was limited and controlled to avoid virus transmission. There were no more beach parties, no more beach sports and less beach time for everyone.
Small business owners near the beach had to move away since they lost all potential customers on the beach. The locals that live nearby also suffered the economic damage the pandemic brought. Most of the things and people that made the visit to the beach perfect were limited and almost gone.
I grew up in this area. My friends and I love having road trips across town to buy exotic sodas and exotic snacks Hollywood beach has to offer. I remember always stopping by Snack Shack Drive Thru to get their exotic pop sodas for sale. It was the best place to get all our food before heading down to the beach. I always found it awesome that we have exotic snacks near me. I mean it was so convenient that snacks near me are all coming from this great store that offers the best cheetos snacks near me and the perfect cream cheese cookies.
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, my mom knocked on my door and asked me to come with her to buy supplies. We put on our face masks and brought our hand sanitizer. I didn’t ask questions regarding the whereabouts of my brother and my dad. I was feeling lonely and was missing the beach. I was just glad that I can go outside. My mom stopped the car. I was too busy looking at photos of different beaches outside the country. I didn’t notice that we were on the drive thru.
That is when I noticed that we were on a line to Snack Shack Drive Thru. My mom was talking to the cashier. I was so shocked. She asked for all of my favorite exotic drinks and snacks. I wouldn’t be surprised that she was buying random snacks but I never thought my mom was paying attention to the snacks I eat. They were never interested in trying the food I ordered. She saw my reaction and just gave me a sweet smile. After paying the cashier she was driving again. I smiled to myself reminiscing about the time I always visited the beach. I thought to myself, at least I was able to visit the drive thru just like before. Even if I can’t go to the beach, I can check buying snacks off my list.
After smiling for a couple of minutes, I just realized that we were on a different road from all the grocery stores nearby. The road that we were on was too familiar. I was starting to feel excitement. My mom pulled over to this mobile home. Inside were my 2 best friends. They came running to me and my mom and asked if we’re able to buy everything. I was so happy. We were on the beach and my mom just dropped me off. She said that I can call her if I need to be picked up, which she doubted. I entered the mobile home and it was packed with all of our favorite things and clothes. They planned everything just to cheer me up. I was happy. Being there at the beach, watching the sunset, eating the snacks I love with my best friends. It was the best and unforgettable beach visit I will always cherish.
